The Quickest, Easiest and Surest Route to Sainthood

What is Marian Consecration
Marian Consecration dedicates a person totally to Jesus through Mary. It devotes us entirely to the service of God. Jesus, Our Savior, has given Himself to us without reserve, it is a simple matter of justice and gratitude that we should give ourselves without reserve to Him.
“If, then, we establish solid devotion to our Blessed Lady, it is only to establish more perfectly devotion to Jesus Christ, and to provide an easy and secure means for finding Jesus Christ.” (St. Louis de Montfort)
“As all perfection consists in our being conformed, united and consecrated to Jesus it naturally follows that the most perfect of all devotions is that which conforms, unites, and consecrates us most completely to Jesus. Now of all God's creatures Mary is the most conformed to Jesus. It therefore follows that, of all devotions, devotion to her makes for the most effective consecration and conformity to him. The more one is consecrated to Mary, the more one is consecrated to Jesus.” (Louis de Montfort)
How to Make the Marian Consecration
You can consecrate yourself to Jesus through Mary in many ways either on your own or with others. Saints Louis de Montfort and Maximillian Kolbe both have beautiful preparations for consecration. Here in Ave Maria, there are at least two opportunities each year to join others who are making or renewing their consecration. This preparation is done with Fr. Michael Gaitley’s book 33 Days to Morning Glory. Contact Ave Maria Parish for more information.

“Entrust yourselves to Mary always, but especially in moments of difficulty and darkness. From Mary we learn to surrender to God's will in all things. From Mary we learn TRUST even when all hope seems gone...”

Mary Can Make Crosses Into Something Sweet
-
Our crosses are hard, but they are the instrument of our salvation.
-
Mary walked with Jesus during every moment of His Passion and death. Likewise, she is our companion during our times of agony.
-
She also helps us not to run away from the crosses that transform us.
Mary is Our Spiritual Mother
From the Cross, Jesus said to Mary as she stood with the Apostle John, “Woman, behold, your son” and to John, “Behold you mother” (John 19:26-27).
-
Just as Jesus helped Jesus grow and develop into a man, so Mary feeds and nurtures us to help us grow to full stature in Christ.
-
Mary’s role is to bring about our transformation into Christ through the Holy Spirit.
-
By consecrating ourselves to Mary, we give her permission to be our spiritual mother. Then she is free to form us into Christ.

Mary is the "Quickest" Way to Holiness
-
St. Louis de Montfort said that Mary is not only the “easiest,” but also the “quickest” way to holiness, the quickest way to our transformation in Christ.
-
Endless testimonies bear witness to the truth of this.

Mary Sanctifies Our Good Actions
-
When we live our Consecration by doing our actions with and in Mary, she purifies them of their self-love.
-
Because good and selfless actions help transform us into Christ, the process of our sanctification speeds up.

Mary Helps Us Be Humble
-
When we consecrate ourselves to Mary, we give her the reward of all our good actions, and this helps make us humble. Why? Because then we can no longer take credit for any good deed we do.
-
Steeped in such humility, Mary and her Spouse can then use us for even greater things without those things puffing us up, which further transforms us.
Mary is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit
-
Because Mary is the spouse of the Holy Spirit, when He finds a soul consecrated to Mary, “He flies there. He enters there in his fullness; he communicates himself to that soul abundantly, and to the extent to which it makes room for his spouse.” (St. Louis De Montfort)

Mary Brings Us to the Fountain of Mercy
-
Mary’s whole role, as St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta said, is to bring us “face to face…with the love of the Heart of Jesus crucified.”
-
At the Cross, Mary helps us to hear the thirst of Jesus for souls, which is the doorway to contemplative prayer. Such prayer deeply transforms us into Christ and gives us a heart like His.
